Learn Trading — Patterns and Concepts

A free, structured reference covering more than 100 candlestick patterns and 50-plus technical concepts, written to be readable by a beginner and detailed enough to use as a working reference.

Candlestick patterns

Every pattern entry explains what the formation is, what market behaviour produces it, where it is reliable and where it commonly fails. Reversal patterns such as engulfing bars, hammers, dojis and morning and evening stars are covered alongside continuation patterns like flags, pennants and inside bars.

Patterns are treated as context rather than triggers. A hammer at a tested support level in an uptrend is a different piece of information from an identical hammer in the middle of a range, and the lessons are written around that distinction.

Technical concepts

Support and resistance, trend structure, moving averages, RSI and momentum oscillators, MACD, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement, volume analysis, market structure and break of structure, and risk management fundamentals including position sizing and risk-to-reward.

The risk-management material is deliberately placed alongside the pattern content rather than after it, because position sizing determines outcomes far more than pattern selection does.

How the lessons are structured

Each entry follows the same shape: what the thing is, what market behaviour produces it, how it is normally used, and where it fails. The failure section is present in every lesson deliberately, because most trading material teaches only the successful example and leaves the reader unprepared for the far more common case where the pattern appears and nothing follows.

Material is ordered so that nothing depends on knowledge introduced later. Candlestick anatomy comes before individual patterns; trend structure comes before pattern context; risk management is introduced early rather than treated as an appendix. You can read straight through as a course or jump directly to a single pattern as a reference — both paths work.

The Learn section is open without an account and carries no advertising interruptions inside lessons, so it can be used purely as reference material while you are charting elsewhere.
